THE LESLEIN FAMILY HISTORY
The spelling of Leslein was actually Loeslein when our ancestors lived in Mittelfranken, Bavaria, Germany.

It is said that the Leslein family (starting with Georg Loeslein) came to America in groups and traveled with an Uncle.

Georg might have come first being that he became a naturalized citizen and purchased property. To be a naturalized citizen and buy land,  one had to be in America for 7 years. He may have traveled to the states between 26 June 1854 and 1859. Records show that Georg married in Germany in 1844 and 2 children, Jacob & Peter, were born in Germany.

Georg and Margarethe Loeslein had 5 known children. Jacob Michael, Peter, Catherine, Margaret, and Johanna. Catherine, Margaret and Johanna were all born in Ohio

With records here in the US, Loeslein became Leslein sometime during the migration to America and the births of the next 3 children.

This is the immigrant ancestor who brought his family over and settled in Columbus, Ohio.
He possibly brought his sons Michael and
Peter (our Michael's father), and daughter, Catherine, and wife, Margarathe.
5th Generation, Mike Taylor (Vicky's son) served in the Vietnam war. Here is a newspaper article ...
