Penny Nichols Simms was... daughter of Dolores Bort Nichols, granddaughter of Lillian Leslein Bort,
great-granddauther of Michael & Louis Leslein. She sadly passed away on January 7, 2024.
The Generations of the Leslein Family...
Penny was a great genealogist, who started working on the Family of Michael Leslein back in 1974.
She had a goal to find records of the past generations/ancestors back to other countries, by utilitzing many websites, trips to cemeteries, libraries, traveling to The FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah for genealogical records.
Along the way of reseaching...
Penny's family tree is located on Ancestry.com website. She couldn't just research & report on one side of a family. Therefore, her tree has branched out to over 9,000 members! The tree is called, "Simms, Nichols and allied families."
Yet, "Leslein families" are in this very large family tree!
As Penny's health started failing (she had a kidney transplant around 2010) and she was losing her eyesight,
it sadly became difficult for her to continue research.
She preferred the tree not be "public," which limited who all could go to Ancestry & visit.
Ancestry work continues...
Ancestry states that Penny is the sole owner of the family tree. My daughter is carrying on the genealogy
and is investigating a feature that may make it possible
to become an inheritor of the account. ntil then... the best that can be offered is
to provide a link (see below).
The family tree has gone way back to...
Zacharias Loeslein was born on November 3, 1763,
in Bavaria, Germany, the son of Appoloniae and Johann.
"Life Stories" can still be created from Ancestry.com
(future project)
Once one uses the above link to visit Ancestry.com - it will be required to log in.
If no account has been established, it is easy to have a "free" account,
by just signing up with an email address and whatever password one desires.
Then once logged in - the family tree will appear.
However, when the family tree appears, the left side starts with any particular person or ancestor. To access one's own personal family line - it will require that a search for a name is done.
